[He wonders if this is the one Eddie wants to ask out on date, but that seems a bit too personal to ask simply over text. Besides, the boy could just simply deny it all he wanted.]

[Maul might tell him the story someday. It's not his favorite, but it did shape him into who he had become today.]

Perhaps they're simply staying away because the humans on Earth are far too primitive and stupid for their tastes.

(He had a feeling he knew what the guy meant, but well. People's powers were different everywhere. As for the date thing, Maul's not too far off there. It'd be obvious when it was obvious anyway. Eddie was agonizingly transparent.)

you'll know richie when you meet him. he's tall and loud and talks more than me and usually says more offensive things in one sentence than i do in a whole week. okay maybe thats not true it's a pretty close match to which of us has a worse mouth. he wears big glasses that make his eyes go O_O

maybe. to be honest with you i think my earth is a lot different than most earths. it was made by a turtle and i dont think other earths were made by a giant space turtle. maybe we aare just off the grid

How did you stumble across that name for yourselves?

[Though from what he'd seen of Bill, Ben, and Eddie thus far meant he had a fairly good idea of what had led to it. They weren't exactly looking like the popular kids at school.]

(Eddie's quiet for a moment, considering the question. He's honestly never really talked about this with anyone before, somehow. It was strange to him, and he would never think that he was so special as to have anything unique about him like that. But then he thinks about the time he saw his friends when he was in the hospital, how he knew what they had said without even being there. How his mom had been so terribly afraid of him that day, how the storm outside had seemed to gather in Eddie's favor. How he seemed to know where he was going no matter what, even if he had never been somewhere before.

Back when Gansey was in town, he had once told Eddie that Gansey and himself were alike. That Eddie was a little king, whatever that had meant, and something else-.)

i saw the future because of strange events in town here. so i dont know if that had much to do with me.

but sometimes i dont know. it's hard to explain. i saw my friends talking to my mom once. she told them to go away, that i didnt want to see them anymore, but my friends told her they'd be back. but i was in a hospital bed when all that happened, and at first i thought it was just a dream but then it wound up being true.

i dont really know if thats the same thing. it scared the beejbus outta my mom i think because she tried to lie to me and tell me they wanted nothing to do with me anymore. but i said no, i saw them, they wanted to see me.

(For once, Eddie wasn't really trying to overshare. He was just being honest, and maybe a small part of him had always been a little curious about that stuff. But it was always so odd to him. He never knew how to word any of it.)

cause it's the name we all got called a lot back home. like everyone had different names for us that were like specific to stuff we hated about ourselves. like ben got called stuff like "tits" or "fat boy" and bill got made fun of for his stutter. me and richie were always ragged on as faggots or whatever. and we had other friends who had similar stuff, but like, the bullies would call all of us together losers and so i guess we started to use it as a compliment

so we'd call ourselves the Losers Club as a way to be like "screw you we know we're different and we're fine with being different because we have each other at least and you have no one"

(Which that all seemed like it would be private, but truthfully it was old news back in Derry. Everyone knew about their group. The town knew that Eddie Kaspbrak and Richie Tozier and Bill Denbrough and Bill Hanscom were giant losers. It wasn't exactly a kept secret or anything.)

Sounds like you have a gift. I sensed something in you when we first met. It felt similar to the Force I use but not quite. With practice, you might be able to expand it.

[The meditation should help with that. Focus his mind into being able to hone his skills. If Eddie's mind could ever stop flitting around like a hummingbird who had drank a whole cup of caf.]

You'd be amazed at the strange things I've experienced in the world. That almost sounds rational. My mother existed in a completely different plane of existence for about a full year.

(Not special. The idea that anyone could sense anything like that about him makes his skin prickle. Not in a bad way, not in a good way. Eddie and power never exactly went hand in hand and he didn't even know what to say about that.)

wow. okay yeah then you probably would get it. i guess when you're out there in space everything seems more believable anyway. that's actually kind of cool. i think most people think im just stoned when i start talking about turtles and like the embodiment of evil looking like a clown.

I know you might think I've always been on top of the food chain, but there was a time when I was young like yourself and had to work my way up to where I am now. I can understand why you and your friends would be where you are now.

[Saying he didn't hurt children at all would've been more reassuring, but it also would've been a lie. Maul has killed men, women, children, and just about everything thing that walked or crawled across most planets when it suited his needs.]

The embodiment of evil looks like a clown? Now that is one I haven't heard, considering the ultimate embodiment of evil in my own galaxy looks like a kindly old man.
