"Ah," Maul said upon seeing K there on his doorstep, sounding surprised but also pleased that he had finally made his way to Maul's for tutelage in the ways of the Force after discussing it before on a number of occasions. "Hello, droid."
Two big-eyed creatures peered from behind Maul, a Shuppet hovering in midair and a Mankey that was currently holding onto Maul's back. They greeted K as well with their own Pokémon languages. Maul gently shooed them back inside. "Off with you two now. He is not here to play. I shall let you know if I have need of either of you later on."
He came outside his windmill and closed the door behind him. "Today we begin your training. Tell me, how familiar are you with how to meditate?"
The pair of Pokémon also greeting him surprised a smile from K, and he offered a hello in turn along with a little wave. A pang of nostalgia tugged at him — he remembered how Maul and Savage had had a virtual menagerie back in Trench. Even after all this time, he still missed Savage... who would undoubtedly think he was being foolishly sentimental.
"Like entering rest mode," K replied, making something of a joke that also wasn't a joke, because he did literally have a rest mode. "Back when I was still learning how to master my Coldblood abilities, Constantine helped me some with meditation. He called it a good tool to have in one's magical arsenal."
Probably a good tool to have in every arsenal, he thinks.
"Good. At least I shall not be starting with you completely from scratch." Maul did scowl at the mention of John Constantine. He and the man had a....complicated relationship to say the least, something he'd never gotten the chance to fully see through before Constantine had left. "Of course the smug wizard would have said that. Of course." He wasn't wrong but Maul just disapproved of anything he did based purely on principle.
"Meditating in the Force comes with being able all the life energy that is radiating around you, so that is the goal we shall strive for today." Maul took K out a bit away from the windmill. He'd found it was easier to start with beginners doing this outdoors. "Sit and we shall begin the lesson." Maul folded his legs up into the lotus position and began the instruction. "Clear your mind. I want you to focus on your breathing and your emotions. Try to actively let what you are feeling flow through you, whether it lies on the surface or deep beneath."
The gritty details eluded K but he knew there was no love lost between Maul and Constantine, so he opted not to linger on the subject. Better to not risk putting Maul in a foul mood and potentially compromising his training.
He followed after Maul and lowered himself to the ground, sitting cross-legged. It had been good to wait until now to begin his training, he thought, because even the simple act of meditating would've been difficult before, with how conflicted and lost he'd felt. And while his mind was still plagued by worry — mainly pertaining to Viktor and the trauma he'd endured — he was better equipped to handle it now. As he did his best to clear his mind and focused inward, those worries remained prominent, but instead of denying them he let himself feel the emotions as he'd been instructed to. Feel them, without clinging to them... letting them flow. Eventually his mind quieted. In this state he possessed an inhuman stillness, the only faint indication of movement being his steady breathing while he listened to Maul.
The Sith Lord waited to see how K would be able to handle the instructions. He kept quiet, breathing and sensing K's emotions, waiting for the android to be able to follow his instructions exactly. Once he was satisfied, it was time to move onto the next part.
Maul's soft, smooth voice droned onwards, the perfect sort to listen to while one was clearing their mind. "Alright. Once you feel your emotions, try to let them rise to the top and hold onto them there. Don't let them go, keep a tight hold on the, and try to use them to push your senses outward. The goal is to be able to start sensing everything filled with life around you."
