[After all the hubbub that was the announcement, Usagi got up and headed for Maul, tugging on his hand. There had been more than a few revealing conversations but there was one currently more important.]

When was the last time you ate?

A day ago. [A pause.] Maybe two.

[No wonder he's been a little snappish with people on the post. He's hangry.]

So... someone... mentioned something, and I've been looking through the network... Um... would you be willing to try something possibly dangerous? They said... they have to eat poisonous items.

[He pauses and thinks that over before shrugging nonchalantly.]

Why not? It's not as if this place isn't already dangerous every moment of every day as it is.

Well, if anything goes wrong, I'll be with you to heal you immediately.

[He gives Usagi’s shoulder a gentle squeeze.]

Then it’ll be alright no matter what. Let us see if this works.

[She let out a soft breath and then went over to the fridge and moved to pull out a container.]

Uhhh so I don't know if you've HEARD of these - I got them by mistake before you ask why I even HAVE them. [She pulled out dark, deep purple almost black-looking berries and placed them on the counter.] These are called Nightshade berries. I just thought they were weird blueberries... though now in hindsight it makes sense why the guy at the market was giving me such a concerned look.

Anyway.

Apparently, these are... super poisonous. I was going to offer them to Varian for experiments.

[Maul looked at the dark berries dubiously and gave a small shrug.]

Well, I suppose that if this doesn’t work I’ll just be spending a few days as a squid.

[He was trying to make light of his potential death but he really wanted to avoid dying in this place unless it was absolutely necessary. Then Maul picked up a few berries and swallowed them with no hesitation and waited to see if they would help or kill him.]

[She quite literally pales at that joke, watching him and reaching out with one hand while her other was on her brooch, ready to transform in seconds.]

H-How are you feeling?

[He waits, ready to tell Usagi to help if he feels so much as a twinge of something going wrong. But he doesn't feel anything going wrong like they're poisoning him. In fact, this is the best he's felt eating anything for days.]

...I think that worked. I don't feel like I'm about to die and that satisfied my hunger a bit.

[She let out a long breath that she didn't know she was holding, her hand reaching out and squeezing his. She smiled.]

Alright, then, let's get you fed. You're almost as mean as I am when you're hungry.

Good. Lead onwards to the food then.

[He's just going to ignore that comment about being mean. Safe to say none of their friends are going to make sure neither of them are going hungry anytime soon. Beings with phenomenal cosmic power definitely needed to be kept full at all times for the sake of everyone.]
